New government, "fresh ...Now the real work begins.
New government, "fresh ideas", new thinking, blah, blah, etc.
Start with the all labour governments -State and Federal, Greens, Democrats, media - everyone needs to be educated so we can have a sensible discussion about this NON URANIUM clean nuclear power. It's going to be the way the nuclear world SHOULD go and Australia should at the very least have an EXPERIMENTAL reactor to not be left behind and to seize the opportunities. We should be trying to lead and influence the debate.
This should, of course, be in ADDITION to all other forms of clean, green renewable energy.
Q: When Indonesia goes nuclear, would we prefer that they have a Uranium or Thorium reactor? Surely its a no-brainer?
We have plenty of thorium that we can export. Lets help develop the technology and the safety protocols, etc.
But how to get around the suggestion/prejudice that the waste products of Thorium process could still POTENTIALLY be used to make weapons? [As told to me by Dr Mark Diesendorf at a recent discussion in Sydney on climate change]TALMIDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02632274925718211925noreply@blogger.com
